THE Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has signed a tripartite memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Mandaue City and Vivant Foundation to continue the Butuanon eco-fence project and establish three bike repair stations in Mandaue City.
The Butuanon eco-fence project helps prevent residents from throwing garbage and other waste materials into the river while the establishment of the bike repair stations is an initiative to promote a more sustainable and inclusive transport system.
Vivant Foundation has donated P250,000 for the construction of a portion of the Butuanon River eco-fence. This will be used to extend the fence that currently stretches for 50 meters along the river.
Vivant Foundation will also provide funds, labor and materials for the construction of three bike repair stations that will serve as assistance to cyclists and bikers.
MCCI president Steven Yu hopes these initiatives will help improve and promote Mandaue as a greener and safer community.
“This tripartite partnership is a clear example of how the government and the private sector can work hand in hand to make things better,” he said during the MOA signing event.
